The year 2002 blossomed with a professional college to impart holistic education in the area of AICTE approved MCA affiliated to M.G. University. The next year the college enhanced its educational spectrum with the introduction of M.Sc. Bioinformatics, B.Sc. and B.Com (Computer), B.B.A. and M.B.A. The college has become a trend-setter in the field of modern education with systematic value education and exposure programmes it offers in co-operation with the university.
In the 2010-11 academic year the college touched the acme of success as the laurels bagged the First, Second, Eighth, Tenth and Eleventh ranks in the final year in B.Com (computer) from the M.G. University.
The next leap of the envious journey was in 1988 when Placid Vidya Vihar Senior Secondary School affiliated to CBSE New Delhi came into existence with a banner echoing the motto ‘Nurturing for Wholeness’. Having reasons in plenty to be proud of Placid Vidya Vihar keeps its rhythm of victories as a beacon of the Kristu Jyoti Group.
The year 1982 bore the stamp of honour when the CMI visionaries of the Trivandrum Province, Chethipuzha, initiated the spade work for the commencement of a glorious venture which was cherished as Kristu Jyoti English Medium School. Since its birth the management of Krsitu Jyoti academics with the motto ‘Lighted for life’ has been holding aloft a vision to kindle in young hearts an unquenching thirst for knowledge. The school from the very date of its establishment has been continuing its elegant march of scoring 100% results both in the academical and extra – curricular activities and has been labelled as an apt boulevard that leads the young aspirants reach their alluring chosen professions.
The kids need a world of their own. Kristu Jyoti started the KG section in 1986. As the strength of the kindergarten was increasing exponentially, there was a need for a new building that would be spacious and exciting for the kids of today. Keeping this in mind, the foundation stone for the new building was laid by Fr .Thomas Mampra CMI, Provincial Superior, on January 31, 2003. The building was blessed by Fr. Antony Kariyil CMI, Prior General and was inaugurated by Mr. .Oommen Chandy, Chief Minister of Kerala on November 13, 2004.
This prestigious venture is yet another gem fixed on the throne of the wide-spread CMI Saraswathikshetra during its majestic journey in 1986. Came in full swing in the year 2003, it has opened a wonderous world of sights and sounds upholding the motto ‘Khel ki Duniya Jeet Hamari’.
It was a quotable achievement for Kristu Jyoti that in 1983-the very next year of its inception Kristu Jyoti Boarding House came up with all the amenities of a boy’s hostel ensuring moral upgradation and academic excellence. This was later named as Vidya Jyoti Boarding House. At present the boarding house consists of 172 students from both Kristu Jyoti Higher Secondary School and Placid Vidya Vihar Senior Secondary School.
Started in the year 2006 it was the realization of a long cherished desire to have a school in ICSE Syllabus along with State and CBSE in the Kristu Jyoti campus. Kristu Jyoti Vidya Niketan was conceptualized keeping in mind the tenets refined living and excellence in academic pursuits.
Set against the rustic ampions of Chethipuzha, the school offers a convinial environment for both the curricular and co-curricular activities of the children. With the motto ‘Lighted for Excellence’ the school purposes to attain global standard in imparting education.

It was in 1982 that the vision of a school managed by the CMI fathers of S. H. Monastery, Chethipuzha took shape and was christened Kristu Jyoti School. In 1988, the Primary wing was begun as Placid Vidya Vihar. By 1995, Vidya Jyoti Boarding House came up with all the amenities of a Boy's Hostel. By the 10th year of its existence, Placid Vidya Vihar which began as a primary school was able to introduce the CBSE syllabus. In the year 2002, the KJ Group extended its service to the field of Higher Education when Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University that offered AICTE approved MCA launched. In the next year M.Sc Bioinformatics and B.Com with Computer Applications were also offered. Kristu Jyoti kindergarten and play school which began in 2003, with the ideals of providing all that is best in child education to our budding minds by availing themselves as teaching learning atmosphere of colours, sights and sounds made the Khel Ki Duniya Jeet Hamari one of the best in South India itself.
A strong alumni association called KJFOSA, which began functioning in 1995, has a chapter In the US and another in Bangalore. The Placid Alumni Association took shape soon after the first Senior Secondary batch of 2003 came out.
